The British Bobsleigh & Skeleton Gala Dinner

Great Britain’s 4 Man Bob­sleigh Team, who had just been con­firmed as the Olympic Bronze Medal win­ners from the Sochi 2014 Olympic Win­ter Games cel­e­brat­ed in the pres­ence of HRH Sophie Count­ess of Wes­sex GCVO at the British Bob­sleigh and Skele­ton Asso­ci­a­tion Gala Din­ner on Wednes­day 24^th April 2019.

The award of the Olympic Bronze medal had been con­firmed by the Inter­na­tion­al Olympic Com­mit­tee fol­low­ing the con­fir­ma­tion that two Russ­ian 4‑man bob­sleigh teams who fin­ished in Olympic Gold and fourth rank­ing have been dis­qual­i­fied for the use of ille­gal per­for­mance enhanc­ing sub­stances. How­ev­er, we were informed that the IOC may have prob­lems in recov­er­ing the medals as one of the Russ­ian ath­letes is report­ed to live in Siberia and not keen to relin­quish his Gold medal!
