Lon­don firms have raised more than £130,000 for nation­al char­i­ty UK Youth at a high pro­file event in asso­ci­a­tion with UPS and sup­port­ed by their pres­i­dent Nigel Mansell CBE

Banks, legal firms, asset man­agers and con­sul­tan­cies ral­lied to sup­port the charity’s sixth Annu­al Gala Din­ner at Bois­dale of Canary Wharf for 200 guests.

Through­out the evening guests heard about the chal­lenges fac­ing our young peo­ple today and the role they can play in sup­port­ing them to build bright futures what­ev­er their back­ground or cir­cum­stances. The atmos­phere at Bois­dale was fan­tas­tic with young per­form­ers from UK Youth’s Big Music Project show­cas­ing their work.

The main event of the evening was the auc­tion which raised an impres­sive £28,000 with prizes rang­ing from tick­ets to the British Grand Prix, a box at the Roy­al Opera House, Bespoke Spec­ta­cles by Tom Davies and tick­ets in the Direc­tors Box at Chelsea.

Found­ed in 1911, UK Youth is the largest nation­al body for the youth sec­tor, pro­vid­ing young peo­ple aged 9 – 25 with high qual­i­ty ser­vices, deliv­ered through a net­work of local­ly acces­si­ble youth organ­i­sa­tions across the UK. Through this unique mod­el, UK Youth offers sup­port, advice and train­ing to over 830,000 young peo­ple to equip them with vital life skills and help them engage in edu­ca­tion, vol­un­teer­ing and employment.

The mon­ey raised at the Gala Din­ner will help UK Youth work towards real­is­ing their mis­sion of pro­vid­ing access to appro­pri­ate, high qual­i­ty ser­vices for young peo­ple in every com­mu­ni­ty so that all young peo­ple are empow­ered to build bright futures, regard­less of their back­ground or circumstances.
