Boisdale of Canary Wharf, London’s premier Scottish restaurant, was named “Whisky Restaurant Of The Year” at last night’s (21st March 2013) Whisky Magazine’s Icons Of Whisky Awards, which recognise and celebrate the people and places behind the greatest whiskies and whisky establishments in the world.
The London embassy of Highland hospitality impressed the judges with its “one thousand strong collection of Scottish Single Malts, Irish, Japanese, Indian and Welsh whisky and with a staff who exude passion for the good stuff”. The magazine also noted Boisdale’s commitment to the whisky cause with its offering of a range of own bottlings.
Ranald Macdonald, Proprietor of Boisdale Restaurants, says: “At Boisdale, we have always prided ourselves on our extensive selection of whiskies and the way we serve them. The staff and I are thrilled that the judges have recognised our passion for the cause, and that of our customers in imbibing and enjoying the water of life.”
