Boisdale of Canary Wharf is delighted to announce that its head chef, Andy Rose, has triumphed in the British BBQ Championships, 2012, held at Laverstoke Park Farm at the weekend.
Andy was declared the winner in his heats after a nail-biting day’s competition at the ‘Field To Fork’ Festival at the Hampshire farm, owned by former F1 world champion, Jody Scheckter. He will go on to fight for the crown of king of the coals at the finals of the ‘Laverstoke Park Farm Presents British BBQ Championships’ at the Weber BBQ Experience at Taste of London on Sunday 24th June, 2012. The heats were judged by some of the country’s most exacting and most feared critics. Andy will be battling it out with top chefs from some of the country’s best restaurants including Maze, Racine and Rhodes Twenty Four. Previous winners have included Cinnamon Kitchen and Bistrot Bruno Loubet.
Andy Rose comments, “The Field To Fork Festival at Laverstoke Park Farm was a fantastic event at an amazing place. I was thrilled to win the heat of the BBQ Championships and am fired up for success at Taste of London. Boisdale Canary Wharf is already home to some of the world’s best jazz, finest hand-rolled Cuban cigars and the best whisky bar bar none. I’m hoping that I’ll be able to add BBQ champions to our list of achievements.”
Taste of London takes place from Thursday 21st June to Sunday June 24th. For further information about the event and the Weber BBQ Experience, please see www.tastefestivals.com. Further information about Laverstoke Park Farm’s Field To Fork Festival can be found at www.fieldtofork.co.uk
