August 4th saw the greats of the UK restaurant world gather to compete in the Balvenie Game Restaurant Shooting Cup, hosted by Boisdale Restaurant and Boisdale Media at the West London Shooting School. The first of its kind in the UK and with over eight Michelin Stars between, the competition set the finest game chefs and restaurateurs against each other to shoot clays and targets. Mark Edwards of Nobu was crowned champion in the inaugural competition who was presented with his trophy – a unique handmade Quaich presented by Kirsten Grant-Meikle of William Grant.

a warm-up to Burns Night, Boisdale of Bishopsgate hosted a dinner with a guest of honour: Stanley Phillips, the US Embassy’s councillor for Agricultural Affairs. The US has banned the import of haggis since the Seventies. “I’m glad to say I’m no longer a haggis virgin,” said Phillips as he tucked in. The ongoing campaign also had the support of the UK Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs (DEFRA); haggis manufacturers Macsween; and House of Lords member Lord Ian McColl of Dulwich, who raised the issue in the House on 15 January. On Sunday November 16th 2014 Boisdale of Canary Wharf saw cigar aficionados and celebrity cigar smokers from around the world gather for The Spectator Cigar Awards Dinner 2014, sponsored by Mehmet Kurt of Kingwood Stud, founded by Boisdale. Arnold Schwarzenegger was crowned The Spectator Cigar Smoker of the Year and Kelsey Grammer, Hollywood star, was a runner-up for the Spectator Cigar Smoker of the Year 2014.
Boisdale hosted a fundraising lunch to support the Queen Elizabeth II September 11 Garden in New York and its twin in London. The Garden lunch was hosted to celebrate friendship between the United States, the UK and the Commonwealth and at the same its twinning with the Garden terrace at Boisdale Canary Wharf. A formal unveiling ceremony of a plaque was held at 12.15pm, followed by the lunch.
