Tuesday 1st December saw Boisdale of Canary Wharf honour both cigar aficionados and celebrity cigar smokers from around the world at the highly esteemed Snow Queen Cigar Smoker of the Year Awards Dinner 2015.
On Wednesday November 18th, Boisdale of Canary Wharf and Wright Brothers, played host to the Cloudy Bay British Oyster Championship & Lunch 2015, in partnership with Velocity, the world’s leading international digital hospitality service. The event gathered the very best in the restaurant industry for the world’s greatest ever, blind tasting of British Oysters to date.
August 4th saw the greats of the UK restaurant world gather to compete in the Balvenie Game Restaurant Shooting Cup, hosted by Boisdale Restaurant and Boisdale Media at the West London Shooting School. The first of its kind in the UK and with over eight Michelin Stars between, the competition set the finest game chefs and restaurateurs against each other to shoot clays and targets. Mark Edwards of Nobu was crowned champion in the inaugural competition who was presented with his trophy – a unique handmade Quaich presented by Kirsten Grant-Meikle of William Grant.

There were 156 guests across 15 tables from The Institute of Economic Affairs, the Adam Smith Institute, Conservatives for Liberty and Women In Tobacco. The TaxPayers Alliance was represented along with the Institute of Ideas, Manifesto Club and Liberal Vision. a warm-up to Burns Night, Boisdale of Bishopsgate hosted a dinner with a guest of honour: Stanley Phillips, the US Embassy’s councillor for Agricultural Affairs. The US has banned the import of haggis since the Seventies. “I’m glad to say I’m no longer a haggis virgin,” said Phillips as he tucked in. The ongoing campaign also had the support of the UK Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs (DEFRA); haggis manufacturers Macsween; and House of Lords member Lord Ian McColl of Dulwich, who raised the issue in the House on 15 January.
