¡VIVA ESPAÑA! BOISDALE CELEBRATES THE NATIONAL DAY OF SPAIN

Iber­ian food & drink menu 12 – 17 October 

Bois­dale of Bel­gravia is proud to announce the launch of a Span­ish menu to cel­e­brate Fies­ta Nacional de España — The Nation­al Day of Spain cel­e­brat­ed on 12 Octo­ber. The 3‑course £65 set lunch and din­ner menu will be avail­able from 12 until 17 Octo­ber 2020 and fea­ture the great­est hits” of the Iber­ian cuisine.

In the words of come­di­an Micky Flana­gan: There’s only one place I’ll go — Spain. Spain is love­ly because we turned up in the mid-70s and we con­quered the Span­ish.” After more than three decades the UK’s love affair with Spain endures. The Brits con­tin­ue to cel­e­brate Spain’s glo­ri­ous weath­er, stun­ning beach­es, cities and land­scapes, Mediteare­nan lifestyle and most impor­tant­ly the impres­sive culi­nary her­itage with pael­la, gaz­pa­cho, jamon, tor­tilla and Manchego cheese becom­ing per­ma­nent fix­tures on many a restau­rant menu, not for­get­ting a deli­cious and diverse range of bril­liant red, white, rosé and sher­ry wines.

To that effect, the £65 set Span­ish menu at Bois­dale will be launched on Mon­day 12 Octo­ber and include a selec­tion of deli­cious tapas to start — Octo­pus à la plan­cha, 36 month Seno­rio de Montabera Iberi­co ham, Wind dried moja­ma tuna and Pan tumaca.

Pael­la with wild rab­bit, prawns & squid will be offered as a main course and a plat­ter of cured and aged Manchego cheese will com­plete the meal.

The accom­pa­ny­ing pair­ing wines fea­ture Arcan Albari­no, Ade­gas Pom­bal a Lan­za­da, Rias Baixas 2017 and Valser­ra­no Blan­co Bar­ri­ca Rio­ja Rio­ja Alavesa 2018 with tapas; 

Mazue­lo de la Quin­ta Cruz, Bode­gas Miguel Meri­no, Rio­ja Alta 2014 with the main course; and La Loma, Bode­gas Miguel Meri­no, Rio­ja Alta Spain 2016 with cheese.

Octo­ber 12, also known as Colum­bus Day, is a nation­al hol­i­day in many coun­tries of the Amer­i­c­as. Christo­pher Colum­bus’s arrival in the New World marked the begin­ning of not only a culi­nary but a tobac­co rev­o­lu­tion in Europe and Asia, there­fore for the lovers of a hand-rolled cig­ar there’s Nicaraguan Vito­la Reser­va, Bode­gas Miguel Meri­no 2013 avail­able to enjoy on Bois­dale of Belgravia’s cov­ered and heat­ed ter­race after the meal.
