Iberian food & drink menu 12 – 17 October
Boisdale of Belgravia is proud to announce the launch of a Spanish menu to celebrate Fiesta Nacional de España — The National Day of Spain celebrated on 12 October. The 3‑course £65 set lunch and dinner menu will be available from 12 until 17 October 2020 and feature “the greatest hits” of the Iberian cuisine.
In the words of comedian Micky Flanagan: “There’s only one place I’ll go — Spain. Spain is lovely because we turned up in the mid-70s and we conquered the Spanish.” After more than three decades the UK’s love affair with Spain endures. The Brits continue to celebrate Spain’s glorious weather, stunning beaches, cities and landscapes, Meditearenan lifestyle and most importantly the impressive culinary heritage with paella, gazpacho, jamon, tortilla and Manchego cheese becoming permanent fixtures on many a restaurant menu, not forgetting a delicious and diverse range of brilliant red, white, rosé and sherry wines.
To that effect, the £65 set Spanish menu at Boisdale will be launched on Monday 12 October and include a selection of delicious tapas to start — Octopus à la plancha, 36 month Senorio de Montabera Iberico ham, Wind dried mojama tuna and Pan tumaca.
Paella with wild rabbit, prawns & squid will be offered as a main course and a platter of cured and aged Manchego cheese will complete the meal.
The accompanying pairing wines feature Arcan Albarino, Adegas Pombal a Lanzada, Rias Baixas 2017 and Valserrano Blanco Barrica Rioja Rioja Alavesa 2018 with tapas;
Mazuelo de la Quinta Cruz, Bodegas Miguel Merino, Rioja Alta 2014 with the main course; and La Loma, Bodegas Miguel Merino, Rioja Alta Spain 2016 with cheese.
October 12, also known as Columbus Day, is a national holiday in many countries of the Americas. Christopher Columbus’s arrival in the New World marked the beginning of not only a culinary but a tobacco revolution in Europe and Asia, therefore for the lovers of a hand-rolled cigar there’s Nicaraguan Vitola Reserva, Bodegas Miguel Merino 2013 available to enjoy on Boisdale of Belgravia’s covered and heated terrace after the meal.
