Following last year’s sell out Truffle,  Game & Claret inner Neil Churchill, Boisdale of Bishopsgate award winning chef known for his love of game and the chase, will be going wild and creating another special dinner, focussed this time, on wild duck.

Rose Prince of the Daily Telegraph was “inspired” and “enthused” when Neil cooked a grouse dish for her in September 2009 and described Neil’s approach to game as “straightforward yet quirky”. True to his signature style, Neil will be preparing the main course duck with a delicate infusion of mandarin and a hint of fiery ginger.

The mallard comes from the Royal Sandringham Estate which falls partly within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The Estate borders have been designated a Special Protection Area for its importance as a wildlife haven on the tidal mudflats. In the late autumn and winter, thousands of pink-footed geese and wild duck can be seen leaving or returning to the 160-hectare marsh.

The four course dinner will be accompanied by copious amounts of Argentine wine from Bodegas Familia Cassone produced in family vineyards located in the prime Drummond area of Luján de Cuyo in Southwest Mendoza, 950 metres above sea level. These are wonderful wines that marry modern freshness of fruit  with structure and complexity.
