The UK wine merchants who are prestigious enough to have an allocation of Cloudy Bay wines all report waiting lists for the new vintage. It is therefore with huge delight and a certain amount of pride that we are able to announce a preview tasting of the new 2009 Cloudy Bay range at Boisdale of Bishopsgate on Wednesday 11 November.

In his book, the renowned wine critic George Taber compared drinking Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc to “hearing Glenn Gould playing Bach’s Goldberg Variations”.  Indeed, in the 1980s, the Cloudy Bay Vineyards set a new standard for New World Sauvignon Blanc and were, without a doubt, responsible for the huge increase in interest in such wines worldwide, particularly in the United Kingdom. To this day Cloudy Bay
remains the iconic market leader for New Zealand and its phenomenon shows little signs of abating.

The New World wonder of Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc and other superb wines in their collection will be presented by Cathryn Stockdale of Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessy, alongside dishes specially created for the occasion by Boisdale’s award winning Head Chef Neil Churchill.
