TV personality, actress, critically acclaimed author and "one of the best" (The Scotsman) stand up comedians in the UK Rhona Cameron, will be joined on stage at Boisdale of Belgravia by multi-award-winning playwright, best-selling author, former Scotsman newspaper columnist Janey Godley and Mike Wozniak - "a real star in the making", Time Out New Act of the Year 2008, Chortle Best Newcomer Nominee 2009 who was described by The Independent as "cleverly off beat as well as occasionally off-beam".

The evening will begin with a Champagne reception which will be followed by a sumptuous three-course dinner, the comic performance and an exclusive auction in support of Action Against Hunger* featuring a selection of unique luxury lots.

ABOUT THE COMEDIANS
 
Rhona Cameron
With her impeccable timing and a generous helping of classic and sharp-witted observational humour, Rhona Cameron rose to fame through the standup comedy circuit and became a regular on British TV in the 1990s. She was a participant in the first series of I’m a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! as well as making appearances on Would I Lie To You?, Live At The Apollo, Law of the Playground and Never Mind the Buzzcocks.

In 2002 she joined the West End cast of The Vagina Monologues and the following year played the first ever female narrator in The Rocky Horror Show. In 2003 Rhona wrote her first book Nineteen Seventy-Nine: A Big Year in a Small Town, a candid, open-hearted memoir of a year in her life growing up as a lesbian teenager in Mussleburgh.

Her debut novel The Naked Drinking Club was published by Ebury Press in 2007.

Janey Godley

Scottish comedienne, playwright, award-winning blogger, best-selling author and former Scotsman newspaper columnist Janey Godley has performed her comedy shows and one-woman play around the world, including off-Broadway in New York. She is a regular on BBC Radio 4's Just a Minute.

A regular 5-star performer at the Edinburgh Fringe, Janey won the 2008 Fringe Report Award as 'Best Performer' and two 2008 Nivea Funny Women Fringe Awards - as 'Best Stand-Up' and, overall, for 'Best Show' as "one of the most prolific and extraordinary stand-up comedians working in the UK".

In 2008, she also won Edinburgh's WAG of the Year Award as 'Best After Dinner Speaker', was nominated as 'Best International Guest' in the 2008 New Zealand Comedy Guild Awards and was voted No 3 by readers in London listing magazine Time Out's 2008 list of Top Ten comedians.

In 2009, her new Edinburgh Fringe show Godley's World got three 5-star reviews.

Her autobiography Handstands in the Dark was a No 3 hardback bestseller and a UK Top Ten paperback bestseller. In 2006, Janey was nominated as and was close runner-up for the annual Scotswoman of the Year title as 'the most inspirational woman in Scotland'

Mike Wozniak

Mike Wozniak initally wrote and acted in comedy troupes visiting the Edinburgh Festival in 2000 with Losing Patients and again in 2001 with Just a Little Prick.

Wozniak's solo show at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, August 2008 won him a nomination for If.comedy's Best Newcomer and won the Amused Moose Laugh Off competition.

He has recently performed in Australia at the Adelaide Fringe, playing on the Best of the Edinburgh Fest showcase, alongside Jarlath Regan and Jason Cook. He is scheduled to return to the Edinburgh Festival in 2009 with his new solo show Clown Shoes and with a sketch-based comedy troupe 'Superclump'.

Mike was voted The Time Out New Act of the Year 2008 and Chortle Best Newcomer Nominee 2009.
