Boisdale on Ice pop-up bar & Wright Brothers Oyster Shack open at Ice Rink Canary Wharf

This winter, Canary Wharf will unveil its stunning ice rink, set under the impressive towers surrounding Canada Square Park. Returning for the eighth time but now under new management, and proudly sponsored by Hublot and Prime Location, this year’s ‘Ice Rink Canary Wharf’ will be bigger and better than ever. The 800m2 rink features London’s first ‘skate path’, leading skaters on a glittering trail through trees lit by fairy lights.
Skating
Skate lessons will be available to everyone throughout the day, from fully-qualified and certified National Ice Skating Association (NISA) coaches. With experience competing in numerous British championships and passing on tips to the celebs on ITV’s Dancing on Ice, the team will have you spinning around the loop like a seasoned skater!
Ice Rink Canary Wharf are proud to support the local schools by offering the London Borough of Tower Hamlets Schools Programme, inviting budding Torvill & Deans to take a spin on the ice with their classmates, accompanied by qualified coaches, for a free hour’s skating.
Eating & Drinking
A pop up Boisdale on Ice bar and Wright Brothers Oyster Shack, will offer the perfect place to relax rink-side, get in the festive spirit and watch other skaters having fun on the skate path. Menus will include legendary burgers, hot mince pies, famous haggis sausage rolls and Wright Brothers Duchy oysters from their farm in Cornwall as well as mulled wine and a great selection of Boisdale award winning wines, malt whiskies and beers. A viewing terrace provides great views of the skate path and spectacular Big Blue sculpture by Ron Arad.
To complete the offering, Boisdale on Ice will feature a Wright Brothers Oyster Shack, which will be shucking oysters and serving Champagne every evening from Monday to Saturday.
Events
Don’t miss Sinatra on Ice on Wednesday 7th November - the Boisdale on Ice bar will feature TJ Johnson & His Band playing Sinatra’s greatest hits.
In addition, a variety of fun filled family days and exciting themed evenings – including Date Night, with amorous all inclusive menus, a Bollywood Night and a Dancing Queen Abba Night – will provide the perfect excuse for celebrating at Ice Rink Canary Wharf. Magnums of Perrier Jouet NV Champagne as prizes for skaters who best reflect the theme of the evening will be also be a regular feature of these evenings.

Ice Rink Canary Wharf will this year host Starlight’s 12 Days of Christmas Run. At 12:12pm on 12 December 2012, hundreds of festive runners will complete a 1.2 mile course around the Canary Wharf Estate to help raise funds for Starlight's Christmas of Happiness Campaign. The campaign aims to restore the magic of Christmas to the thousands of children in hospital and the funds raised will grant magical wishes and provide festive entertainment to seriously and terminally ill children in London. Boisdale on Ice will provide festive treats to all runners taking part.
