The Lamb at Hindon, nestled in the heart of a historic Wiltshire village near Salisbury, is delighted to announce that John Burton Race will be joining the restaurant as guest chef for the winter season.

Throughout his residency, from November 2010 until February 2011, Burton Race will be offering daily specials to complement the a la carte menu, as well as a three-course set menu for just £29. To mark the truffle season, both white and black truffle dishes will feature on the menu, priced from just £20 and available for a limited period only.
The Lamb at Hindon serves market-fresh fish, seasonal game and the West Country’s best selection of dry aged grass fed steaks from local Stourhead Farm. Wherever possible, ingredients used at The Lamb are sourced from the very best local and Scottish suppliers.
Proprietor of the Boisdale Restaurant Group, Ranald Macdonald, said, ‘We are all very excited to welcome John Burton Race to The Lamb at Hindon and can’t wait to experience more of his creations. We have already had a superbly delicious time developing and sampling JBR’s new menu ideas. He is an exceptional talent, an inspiring character and full of surprises. It’s going to be a lot of fun! ’
The Lamb has recently undergone a £1 million refurbishment, which has maintained many of the original features, including three period fireplaces, flagstone floors and heavy wooden beams. The Lamb offers the Dining Room, Whisky bar, Sitting Room and the Meeting Room, which can also be used as a private dining room for 22 guests. The nineteen individually furnished bedrooms have recently been refurbished to a five star standard. Eclectic original artwork adorning the walls of The Lamb ranges from 18th and 19th century watercolours and oil paintings to Miro and Chagall.
It is suggested that The Lamb at Hindon began trading as a public house as early as the 12th Century. By 1780 it was already well established as a posting inn that supplied 300 post horses for coaches going to and from London and the West Country.
