    Jazz is a popular genre in Scotland and there are several fun and snazzy jazz festivals scheduled throughout the coming year. If you have a hankering to listen to some jazz music, here are some musical choices for your entertainment:

    1. Aberdeen Jazz Festival March 9-13

    Starting on Wednesday, March 9, jazz lovers will delight to the music of the Lemon Tree Bunch. Later on, there’s a jazz orchestra with Eileen Hunter and some classic jazz performances as well.

    The next few days are more of the same, beautiful jazz music, great jazz singers and players and good food. The prices vary and are listed for each event.

    2. Kirkcudbright Jazz Festival June 16-19

    This will be the 14th annual festival held in this little Scottish town. There’s fun for all ages of jazz enthusiasts with music by T.J. Johnson, The Millennium Eagle Jazz Band, New Orleans style reed player Thomas l’Etienne from Germany, brothers Emile and Ben Martyn, the Savannah Band, Canadian based Hot Five Jazzmakers, the New Century Ragtime Orchestra and the Dave Donohoe Band.

    3. Lockerbie Jazz Festival October 1-3

    If you love jazz, food and fun, then come on over to the Lockerbie festival in October. Some of the artists on the bill include Carol Kidd, The River Devils, Red Stripe Band, Angie King, Bachelors of Jazz and many, many more.

    4. Dundee Jazz Festival October/November

    Another great jazz festival to attend occurs in Dundee in October/November 2011. Fans will be able to listen to Mike Stern, China Moses, Angie King, Gordon McNeal Band, and Havana Swing.
